Automatically separate a photo subject from its background, or remove a flat backdrop by color.
Inputs and settings
Background Remover accepts Removal method (Automatic subject removal (AI), Flat color / manual); Background color (manual mode); Color tolerance (manual mode) (minimum 0, maximum 255); Edge softness (manual mode) (minimum 0, maximum 100).
Worked example
Background Remover example — Removal method: "automatic"; Background color (manual mode): "#ffffff"; Color tolerance (manual mode): 35; Edge softness (manual mode): 15. Output and limitations
Automatic mode downloads the segmentation model on first use and processes the photo locally. Inspect fine hair and translucent edges on the checkerboard preview. Manual mode uses an edge-connected color flood fill: set the background color and tolerance for plain backdrops; enclosed matching colors are preserved.
